Cal State Teach
By Monica

Clip to ScrapBook
Deborah,

I haven't been in Cal State Teach program, but have met people who are in the program or have gone through it, plus my niece is thinking about applying. It sounds like a good deal to me. The appealing thing about
it is that you don't have to drive to take classes a couple of nights a week, and you don't have to do unpaid student teaching, because you're getting on-the-job training.

BUT -- the people who are in the program say you have to be very self-disciplined and organized, because nobody's looking over your shoulder to make sure you're keeping up with the work and if you get behind,

it's impossible to catch up. And you have to pass MSAT early in the program, which is hard for a lot of people. They won't let you continue after a certain point until you pass the test. (That's the thing that's worrying my niece, who struggled with the CBEST.)

They have a really good website at calstateteach.net.
