Write around the room

I just made word books for my 2nd graders. Each page has a letter of the alphabet and 5 poetry pages are at the end. On the 1st day I had them read around the room. The next day they went back with their new books and copied words & poems in their books. They will use this book as a reference when writing. They were amazed at what they saw in our room. The labels & poems have been there all year, but many had never really read them. Good luck
