There are some places you just can't win!

Lurker, I think you are being a bit unfair to Eric. I have taught many years, have always had effective discipline in my classroom and have had two very successful years of subbing. However there is one class I will not return to and it has only eight students at the middle school level. I have been asked to this class for two different days and have found they are almost impossible to control. It takes all my bag of tricks and more just to keep the lid on much less teach anything. I just cringe at the idea of trying a class like the one Eric describes and think, no matter how much experience one has, it is an impossible situation. Someone is failing badly here and it is not only the kids; the administration needs a wake up call.
