    daylight savings time
    By Carolyn

When I was in Arizona, I discovered that the change in clocks only occurs on the Indian reservations. This can be a bit confusing as you go in and out of reservations and you have to be somewhere at a particular time.

Also, I believe the custom of changing clocks began during World War II. The idea was to conserve electicity.

There was one year back in the 1970's where they decided to start daylight savings time earlier in the year. Instead of moving the clocks ahead in April, we moved them ahead in February. That was in West Virginia, where I was living at the time. It was horrible, because it was so dark so late in the morning. I think they did away with changing ahead so early in the year the following year. Thank goodness!
