I get along with my cooperating teacher great. my teacher is on an assessment committee involving 4th grade so she is gone quite often. Even though I am only a few weeks into the school year, when she is gone, the substitute does nothing. I am in full control and the students respect that. I know that if my cooperating teacher did not feel I was ready, she wouldn't let me teach so much so soon into the year. This was also helps the students adjust to my teaching style and rules. I have found too that by telling the students exactly what is expected of you, they understand why you are there and that this is a learning process for you too. My cooperating teacher explained that the students are teaching me how to become a good teacher and in return are much more cooperative. Good Luck!
