Every year we have an author's tea, in which students choose one or two pieces of writing to read outloud. We invite parents, friends, siblings from other classes, our principal, and anyone else we want to. It's really fun, and the kids really enjoy it! I usually have cookies and punch or some sort of refreshment. Last year I was out of money, so I had the kids bring in treats, that actually worked out great, they brought in small packs of cookies (the .99 cent ones). Michele
