I have a 5 year old student who is the same exact way. He actually ran away from the principal and the nurse! When he had a tantrum the other day, I called for the nurse and I had my other students on one side of my room and the nurse watched him on the other side. He kicked and screamed and then he finally just tired himself out. It seems like ignoring the behavior is working with this child, but I did have someone watching him one on one and she just sat there and watched him. We havent had a problem since. Good luck with your student.
