I teach 5 classes of 6 grade math and my class sizes range from 28 to 21. I have the 28 first thing in the morning and they have not been a problem yet, I think because they are still asleep. I really think it depends on the students in the individual classes. I previously taught first grade with 23 students, 8 girls and 15 boys and I do believe some of them fell through the cracks.
