When the child picks up an object, which hand does she/he reach with? If you place an object at midline in front of a child, which hand does she/he grab with? If students have developed handedness, they usually will cross midline when coloring (go from the left across to the right - or right ascross to left, across the middle of their body). If they move the crayon to the other hand instead of crossing midline, they may not have developed handedness yet. Hope these help.
