grandparents day celebration

There is a cute Grandma's glasses poem and grandpa's glasses poem. I do not have the words but I will try to look it up for you on the web. Also, what about Over the River and Through the Woods. Have the students draw pictures of their grandparent andwrite a short story, then have the grandparent try to guess which one is theirs. Have the children and their grandparent make something together like cranberry or corn muffins and homemade butter (baby food jars work great for this). Grandparents can write a story about what they did as a child (same age as your student) and laminate them and give them to their grandchild. Have the student write why they are thankful for their granparent. I will try to find some more ideas, hope these were helpful.
