We do activities with our word wall when we have a few minutes to kill. One of their favorites: we read all the words on the wall aloud, I have them close their eyes, and they have to figure out which word is missing. They can either raise their hand, or turn to a partner, identify the missing word, and spell it. There's lots of fast things that can be done on a word wall.
