Hi! I recently left my Junior Kindergarten class for the day since I had a all day meeting to attend. I came back to find that many were upset that I was gone and planned not to come to school the following week if I was not there. The children have contected with you and are used to you. I wrote down a step by step plan of the routines that I do and this helps. If the sub keeps the same routines and the same transition songs are sung, the children are better adjusted. There are those that will still behave differently from the way they do with you. Don't reward the ones that were on task since they might not make the connection and the others will be really hurt. Just try to remember that you are not the only one that this happens to. Sometimes the sub does not do the same things that you do and the children don't understand this.
