Spelling

I have a spelling center in my 4th grade class where students that I know are not being challenged by our class words can go and work. I have a scrabble game and the students play (with a little twist) They have a dictionary at the center with them and I let them use that to find new words before putting their tiles down. They have a clipboard where they also record the new word and put a definition in their own words down. They are challenged to use these new words in their writing projects.
