I'm starting this on Monday...

On Monday morning, I am going to announce to the WHOLE class that I am going to start a behavior journal. If a student misbehaves (I will give examples...) then that student will have recess with me and we will fill out the journal together.
I have a sheet for them to fill out, sign and date. This way I have announced to the WHOLE class and not just this student, my plan. I forgot to mention that this particular student often does his assignments the opposite way that I told the class to do. It's not because he doesn't understand, but because he wants to do it the way he wants to do it( especially in | |
math, we have to do algebraic expressions showing the correct methods).
Anyway, I will let you know what happens on Monday. The first time that this student talks back to me, he is going to miss recess and fill out my behavior journal page.
I will also announce this plan to ALL my parents on Open House, Tuesday night.
