lower level books

You might want to check out www.Rigby.com and look through their catalogue. They have fiction and non-fiction books at a wide range of levels. I taught K/1 last year and had advanced readers and am teaching 2nd this year. I've had great success with the Rigby emerald or ruby chapter books and some Joy Cowley chapter books. As for series, many students seem to enjoy the Magic Tree House and Box Car books. I added Mysteries, Sports books, and Jokes/Riddles to my genre browsing boxes this year and they are real popular. You could also check out the Guided Reading book for grades 3-6 as they have a list of leveled books there. 3rd grade includes levels N, O, and P. Good luck!
