Would it be against the law?????

Would it be against the law if you video taped these children for this purpose? I have permission slips from parents to take pictures and video my students because we do a lot of projects and they oral presentations in front of the class that we video and then watch. I have some behaviors in my class as well, and I was wondering if It would be legal just to hit the record button, but I don't think that would be legal even with permission slips. Anyone out there that can comment on this.
