Checked with the guidance counselor at school today and seems I was misinformed. Here's what I learned:

1) the participants at our school were selected RANDOMLY. They counted off a certain number on a master list. For
example let's say every 15th (or whatever number used) were selected.
2) the counselor empathized with some of the jealously or elitist issues you brought up. It is one reason she doesn't really want to do the program again
3) another reason she didn't want to do the program this year is because she said they require each meeting to discuss abstintence. The counselor thinks our

girls have other issues they need to discuss as well.

I caught the counselor for only a brief moment to ask these questions. If you have other questions please post again and I'll try to get more in-depth answers.
