Clip to ScrapBook
Nan, meet the kids at the door with a smile. Once they are in the room and settled wait for opening announcements before introducing yourself. Often Grade Four will have students who have assigned jobs, milk tickets, book orders etc. Then give the class your name and your expectations in a firm voice making sure to make eye contact. Tell them you are expecting to have a good and productive morning and that you will be leaving a note for their teacher on how it progressed. Stress that you are following their teacher's program and then begin the first lesson. Mornings are much easier than afternoons so you have lucked out there.
