Reading--Character Display

How about using a 2 liter soda bottle as the base, adding a styrofoam (or other) ball to the top and then "dressing" the characters. I did this with granddaughter this summer and "Junie B. Jones Lunch Lady". The project was a "keeper" we both had a grand time. I did Mrs. Gutzman! Both characters went home with her!
