Re: little experience

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Amy! I am in a similar boat. I applied to a credential program for January 2003, and am eager to begin on my new journey of teaching. While I am not a teacher yet, I would offer some advice anyhow, for what it's worth.
I have found that in most jobs if you sell your strengths & enthusiasm, it goes a long way. I would whip up a resume highlighting my past skills & knowledge that would be useful in that preschool setting (i.e. any experience at all with kids or teaching, volunteer work, supervisory skills etc). Include in your cover letter what your plans are, and stress how excited you are to learn and
contribute to this new position. If that doesn't work, you might want to do some volunteer hours until you get your foot in the door.

Good luck to you! Please keep us all posted on your progress!
