As hard as it might seem, I think the thing to do is to ask to speak to the principal and say something like, "I'm sorry we got off on the wrong foot. I really want to do a good job for you, but I am now feeling jumpy and nervous every time I see you. Can we start again?" Maybe this will open up some dialogue and you can clear the air. Good luck!
