There is a 4 year age range in any state regarding special students. They must be seperated by at least 4 years. Make a list of pros and cons and present a well documented argument one with thought not emotion. In my district if aides can't lift or do the job they are placed in they can bump to another job but if there isn't one they are not re-hired.I am fortunate that I have 2 wonderful aides. I lost one last year because she couldn't lift and she was told to take a BD student or EC class or she would be let go. Fight for what is always right with the students.
