sped regulations
By ann

Clip to ScrapBook
Your situation sounds a bit foreign in our district. I'm not a sped teacher but I know our sped teachers know the sped regulations in and out and if they feel a situation is not in the best interest of the kids, they'll quote a certain regulation number and the district must comply with their recommendations. It's ruffled a few feathers a couple of times but the teachers stick to the regs because the district must comply with the law. E.g., a teacher was going to receive 1 more student and it would have put her 3 students over her limit. She refused to sign an agreement to do so and they had to hire another part-time teacher. Good luck!
