I know how you feel
By BDA

Clip to ScrapBook
I definitely know how you feel. My husband is in grad school as well and after teacher one year (an hour away) like you, I began looking for jobs--in my case--a job closer to where I live. No such luck. Within this past
year, I've been a secretary and a teacher's aide (there's that wonderful $500/month pay) and I'm now jobless. Now, it is true about there being teacher shortages--it's just a matter of being able to move to that shortage area. At the schools in my state there are 20-30 openings in any one district sometimes. BUT, not where I live. I'm looking for a preschool/daycare job--just something
to be able to work with kids--but I don't know yet if I can afford it. My husband has to do extra work just to help out. So I definitely know how you feel. I just hate that someone else has to go through it too. More than likely, I'll have to work as a secretary again and work on my master's "in the meantime". (the job pays for part-time) Well, there's my rant for the night. Hang in there and keep us posted. What state are you in?
