Texas early childhood education

I know that in my state, Texas you have to go for either early childhood, which will certify you to teach pre-k through 4th or you can choose the middle grades, elementary education, which certifies you to teach 4-8th. I prefer the younger grades. I don't want to teach pre-k, and I don't want to go above 2nd grade. I want to teach K-2nd so early childhood is the best fit for me.
