pencil holder

I don't have a great suggestion for pencil management. However, I do have this one idea that I'm stealing from a Chinese restaurant. If you're using a common pencil container, fill it up halfway with uncooked rice. Pencils stand upright in the rice very nicely, and the kids will think it's a cool(and hopefully not knock over the container and spill rice all over the place!).
