Just an update on this idea...

Well, I began using this idea since my mom said the kids she subbed for loved it...I have 5, 6 and even some 7 year olds in my class, and was afraid one the 7 year olds (a boy) would think it was too babyish. Well, the kids loved it! I decorated a black Halloween cauldron with colorful star stickers and bought a wand with streamers, and now the kids always hope for Fridays because they know I bring out what's now referred to as "The Hug and Kiss Bowl". I've even had kids throw their own kisses into the bowl for me, and can you believe it...a few of them asked if I could tap them twice, so their brother/sister could have a hug and kiss from me too! I'm glad I started doing this!
