I would recommend drawing it out on paper first- That way you have an idea of where you want your lines- use your drawing as your guide.

Also, the first time you use the pencil to draw a line- it will make a box. Use
this box as your outside border of your "grid". Then use the pencil to draw line in the inside of your border. Be careful when you draw that you watch where your lines start and stop- they need to touch the border but shouldn't go beyond it (this will creat a new box) Same things with the eraser- make sure you are highligting the line(s) you want to erase- you can erase part or
all or a line if you are careful.

Finally- you can add text to the page that doesn't need to be in your "grid" that you created. Just make sure there is enough room on the page- you might need to shrink your lesson "grid" Double click on the place where you want text and the cursor should go there and you can type. I am thinking if you want to put a key down at the bottom explaining what certain abreveations mean- Good luck! And like I said- play around until you find something that you like... you will wonder why you didn't do it before
