I have a great saying that helps students remember the order of the planets from the Sun. The first letter of the planet starts the word. My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas a e a e u a r e l r n r r p t a p u s u t c i u n t t s h u t r u u o r e n s n y r e The trick with the two M's is that Mars is a shorter word so it comes first....I've had students 4 years later that have come up to me and said, "I still remember my order of planets!" Simple, but it works. I love the Magic School Bus book, too.
