I am in total agreement with the other responses regarding inclusion, in that it is not beneficial to the special ed student, the rest of the class, and the teacher. Too much time is spent trying many different tactics to bring the behavior/learning disability under control, most of which doesn't work. I could go on about my feelings, but if anything will ever be done about it, then those of us who believe inclusion is wrong need to speak up. Write to your school district, the OSPI, your state legislatures, and even the media. It's time to stop this out of date and unfair practice, and help our kids according to their INDIVIDUAL needs!
