Young teacher
By Ally

Clip to ScrapBook
I would suggest trying to dress the part of "teacher"...I know a lot of teachers dress more casually and it seems to be acceptable in some schools, but since you are new and would like to be taken seriously as humanly possible
, dressing up in business-like attire might help you feel more in control and give the impression you are older.

As well, I would not tell any of the students your age, especially at the high school. I have had kids ask me how old I am and never worry about telling them, but I work at the elementary level and I am not all that young ...but in this case, a little mystery might help.

But

you never know, even with all your effort, you may still get mistaken for a student...or worse, a student might ask you out! I guess my final bit of advice would be...keep your sense of humor! Good Luck...Ally
