I have 3 pieces of advice for you 1st never interrupt a parent no matter how tempting it may be....let them say their piece and listen carefully....even take notes at first if need be so you can refer back in case
2nd if you make a mistake admit it, appologize for it and move on. You won't make the same mistakes twice....but I've found it's better to admit and appologize - parents are more accpeting when you are up front with your mistakes and finally - I know you're young and probably not yet a parent but try to put yourself in their position....I'll never forget when my son's teacher said to me in MARCH ---well now that I finally like Johnny.....all I could think of was what????? it's March and now that you like my son?????? I never heard another word of the conference I was so upset by that statement....so try to not say something like that it's quite hurtful even though she really didn't mean it that way....and my son in now 23 and I've never forgotten that statement! Good luck don't let the rumors scare you you know how that works....they get bigger than real life after a while!
