I now teach 1/2, and our whole school is have a Hero Day on 9-11. A couple guys from National Guard are coming in, and some fire fighters. We are also going to observe the moment of silence at noon, which everyone in the US is asked to do.

While I don't want to rehash anything, I had a student in class write in his journal "Saddam, stay away from the USA or we will get you!" So, kids still remember it. Also, when I read Yertle the Turtle, a kid said that some things are higher than Yertle, like the Twin Towers, if they were not hit and knocked down. They remember...
