What is the child upset about? The fact that the child is sitting with boys and girls instead of just girls? I don't put my in groups of all girls or boys because of talking issues.My dad just retired as an asst. principal | at a high school. He said a lot of problems that they see in secondary are due to the fact of how elementaries teach kids...i.e. giving in to kids and parents. I told him that I as a teacher try to fight it, but administration doesn't always follow thru with what my wishes are. I agree that each year, the kids are more immature and parents get upset at the smaller things. What | |
will it take to change it??? We as teachers seem to beat our heads against the wall fighting for getting these kids on the right track, but all we come away with are bruises.Parents sometimes pick the wrong battles. This seating thing is one of them. Stick to your guns! If you give in now, the parent will think that she can do this all the time!!
