I agree with the way Renee felt. I too had a class with a handful of EH (emotionally handicapped) children one year and by the middle of the year I felt EH. By the way, I am just reg. ed. I would cry a lot and felt on edge and needy-just not like myself. Inclusion really does have the best intentions, but I think what's happened is that children are no longer chosen for this model based on the best fit. It seems all children are just thrown into reg. ed rooms now, even if a self-contained unit would be the best fit for them. It really does make the rest of the class suffer and the untrained teachers suffer too. To me, that is definitely NOT a best fit.
