Try intrinsic motivation!
By Shannon

Clip to ScrapBook
If you want to not resort to stickers etc...try Choice Theory by William Glasser. It is great! I got taught on it my first year teaching, and have never, EVER given out stickers as a reward for being quiet, doing work, etc! And this is my 5th year teaching.

It is all based on what children need....basically, when you see the four areas of what children need to be happy in life...if you give those time in class, they will want to work for you. The four are love/happiness, fun, freedom and power (as in competence).

And it sure does save a lot of money!!!
