First of all, I think you need to call your school district board office to learn the requirements for being a substitute teacher. (This seems to vary from state to state.) If you meet the requirements, ask them what steps you must take to make application for a sub position in that district. They might send you the necessary application in the mail, like mine did. In my state, I needed a BCI criminal background check, TB testing and sealed college transcripts in addition to the completed application. Then I was ready to make application to the State Board of Education for a Substitute Teacher License. The school board hired me with my licensing in progress. Hope this helps. Good luck, Ashley!
