As a parent of a first grader, who has reading homework nightly, I agree that it can burn a child out. We've only been in school five weeks and my daughter dreads getting out her "book in a bag". I am a big advocate of reading and a big book lover. However, her goal of 175 books this year, is seeming a little lofty right now.
