I am a third fourth grade teachers that loos. I use a neat strategy that has really helped with the talking. I put a phrase on the boeard like Let's eat some popcorn, except I put the __ _ _ _ blanks, so they don't know the phrase. The students earn letters for good behavior to spell their phrase, but they can also lose letters for talking. I put the letters up in random order to keep them guessing, kind of like wheel of fortune. I hope this helps!! Fran
