Not too much
By Teri

Clip to ScrapBook
At the last 2 schools I have worked in, homework is given every night except for Friday night. We give homework packets on Monday, and they are to be turned in on Friday. The homework includes spelling practice, sight word
practice, math and language worksheets, and reading homework. I disagree that it is too much homework. Each night doing 1 sheet and reading is NOT too hard for them. IT will only take them 10 min. for the worksheet and 10 min. for the reading. I think the best way, and most parent friendly is to send home packets monday with a cover sheet indicating what to do each day for homework.
Have first graders turn in homework everyday is not needed. Just have the packets due every Friday. I have done this for years, and it has worked just fine.
