I am sorry about your first day fiasco. I wanted to write you a note to encourage you that it will be okay. I know I would be feeling the same, but try not to be too hard on yourself. You asked if this had happened to | anyone. Well, I am a Kindergarten teacher too, and this did happen to me, but not as a teacher, as a kindergartner! I wanted to ride the bus and see where all the kids lived so I didn't get off the bus at my street, but stayed on the entire trip. You can imagine my parents worry! The bus driver took me home after he discovered me at the end of the day, but by then my parents weren't |
| home- they had gone looking for me at the school. I remember sitting on the steps at home crying thinking my parents had left me. It was upsetting and scary to my parents at the time, but In the end, it has become a funny story that we tell. In fact, it is one of my mom's favorite "mother" stories!! Thank God that your student was indeed safe!!! I will be praying that there will be no further problems for the student, the family, and for you! Hang in there! Kindergarten is the best!!! I waited for a long time to get to this grade, and I love it! I wish you all the best this year. Hope everything goes much more smoothly for you now!
