I also believe life is too short. I try not to bring work home after school. My husband and I have made that agreement that our family life is more important. Our Ontario curriculum is heavy but I refuse to put this burden on my students. They work hard all day, I push them to the max and they work . I give short reading assignments or mad minutes practice and spelling practice but never new or unfinished work. Why? Who will do the work? Did they do it alone? I cannot assess their skills this way. I don't like to work after work why should I make my students work after their day.
