I couldn't agree with you more! This is my third year teaching kindergarten and I still spend a ridiculous amount of my own money. I have found of few ways to help out that you might be interested in. During
back to school night I often set out a lollipop wish tree. I hang little strips of paper around lollipops with items I still need for the classroom and as the parents are walking around the room they can pick a lollipop. Some items might be a roll of film or disposable camera, sponges, treasure box items, special/holiday stickers, etc. Anything you might need in your classroom. Usually
parents are very receptive to this and enjoy helping out! Also as a grade level this year we included a $10 craft fund to our supply list to help out with cooking and special craft projects through out the year! Good Luck and definitely keep your receipts!
