    I share your pain
    By no job

I am in a similar position and know exactly what you're going through. After working in one district for 12 years as a paraprofessional (sort of an educational assistant or instructional aid but more like a case manager for at risk students), I finally completed my licensure while working there full time. 2.5 jobs came up in my specific licensure in the district(most at the school where I was employed and the other at the school where I'm now employed in the same position). I wasn't interviewed for one job and the other 1.5 positions I wasn't even in the running after interviewing.

Asking what I could do to improve my opportunities the next time got me no where and I was given nothing to go on.

It's difficult to continue to work in this district and see the people who were hired but I need the job and teaching positions are hard to come by. Sometimes I think the district takes me for granted and knows I will continue to do my job for less pay than a teacher makes. Frustrating!

So, like many others, if I don't come across a teaching job during the year, I'll be moving.

Good luck to you and eventually we'll all be find the job for us. Keep your fingers crossed.
