folk tales

I taught a unit on folk tales last year in third grade. The possibilities are endless. We had a "Folk Tale Fair" where each child created a book based on their favorite folk tale. They dressed up as the main character and presented the book to the class. I also compared "Lon Po Po" and the many versions of "Cinderella". There are tons of resources on the web if you type folk tale lesson plans in the search engine.
