Really the first week I just go through procedures; howw we line up, how we ask to use the bathroom..... with just a few activities in between so I can assess where they are. Pick up The First Days of School by Harry Wong it is great info. It takes at least a month for first graders to get into the routine so practice, practice, practice! HTH
