People's comfort level with talking during transitions varies. I know my principal really wanted me to let them talk during transitions, saying it was a "release" for them. Personally, I feel that would be fine ... IF they suddenly got quiet from this "release" when it was time to start working again. Since that isn't the case, I also give out table points for the group that is ready the fastest.
