sensory center
By Danyelle

Clip to ScrapBook
We have a sesory area. We have it in a little back room so, some of these suggestions might be hard if you don't have a sectioned off area. But, you could just use dividers. I have floor mats, sensory table, a big therapy
ball, a bouncy ball, a balancing disk, felt board & felt story pieces, musical instruments, sensory integration music CD's, children's music, rocker, bean bag chair, light brite & a mini ball pit. We have a bin of long strips of material to use as streamers or wraps. Think all senses, tactile & motor, visual, auditory, etc... Good luck! My kids love sensory time! We use it for individual
sensory breaks and we also have scheduled small group time. Something else that's sort of related...we have a small play tent in the reading center that the kids can go into when they are over sensory stimulated. I hope this helps. And no the paper work never stops. What population of students are you working with? I teach autistic support 5,6 & 7 year olds.
