this year I have set up a "I'M DONE " jar. in the jar are about 25 different suggested activities that are typed, each one on a separate sheet of paper, thin & folded (I typed about 5 per page so that I could cut them into strips) when the kids are done with all required work they can choose one strip from the done jar and then work on the activity. if they finish-great, if not-that's okay also, but they are creative activities that students can do individually that hopefully keeps them engaged while others are working.
