homework folders
By michele

Clip to ScrapBook
I have used homework folders in all of the grades I've taught (K,1,and 3/4). On the first day of school, I give each student a homework folder. Inside is a letter to parents stating that this folder will be traveling back
and forth between home and school daily. I send homeowrk in this folder, as well as notes from school to home. Each day before we leave, we write homework on a homework calendar that is kept inside the folder. If (when) I have students who can't keep track of their folder, I will put them on a job card which requires a parents signature daily. (I conference with the parents first.).
This usually keeps parents and kids in line.

I really like this system, it seems to work, except for the 1-2 kids per class that won't return homwork no matter what you try! :o)
